“Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities” is a registered non-profit children’s charity operating on behalf of the St. Camillus Foundation of Thailand in Lat Krabang, Bangkok. Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities aims to help orphaned and abandoned children who are living with disabilities or serious illness.
How does the project address the issue?
Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities focuses on providing various rehabilitation such as physical therapy, art therapy and more basic living training skills. All children are supported to enroll into non-formal education and school for the blind as well as occupational training.
Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities has established “Round-Trip Fuel Fund”, funding donation 216,000 Baht, to cover all transportation expenses. The transportation includes day care children and resident children. The transportation cost can effectively support about 80 children per month.
How will your donation create impact?
Every baht of your donation will help provide for fuel cost:
- Transportation for day care children. The van transports round trip day care children to Camilian Home for Children Living with Disabilities which the average travel distance is one round trip is 60 kilometers. The van makes 2 round-trips (sending off & picking up) per day, making 120 kilometers drive each day. The fuel expense is 10,000 Bath per month.
- Transportation for long-term hospitalised children. The van transport round trip the resident children to long-term rehab at hospital such as Lat Krabang Hospital, Sirinthorn Hospital, Children Hospital, and Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Institute (the only one in Thailand that specialises in rehabilitation for disabled people). The van makes about 12-15 times per month, or equates to fuel expense of 8,000 Baht per month.
Each month, Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities requires fuel cost of 18,000 Baht per month to transport children for their care. Gross expense per year totals to 216,000 baht.
