About SATI Foundation
SATI: means mindfulness. Our goal is to solve problems with mindfulness. In order to find solutions to problems or even in order to properly recognize the problems around us, we must be consciously present. Once this is achieved, we can work together towards making our world a better place rather than allowing the same cycles to repeat itself.
SATI Foundation's main mission is to improve healthcare and education in underserved areas of Thailand and beyond.
The Issue
Clean drinking water is a basic necessity of life. Many of the schools and villages in the Northern and North-eastern provinces that we have visited have problems with clean drinking water, which leads to diarrhea and severe health issues.
How does the project address the issue?
"SATI Water Filter Project" is a project under SATI Foundation that aims to
Provide water filters and tanks for underserved schools in the Isaan and northern Thailand region
Provide education on proper maintenance of the filter so that it will last for many years to come
Teach sanitation and nutrition
How will your donation create impact?
For every 200 baht, you can provide clean water for a child in the northern and northeastern provinces.
Your donation will go to support the costs associated with having the water filter installed at schools in the northern and northeastern provinces.
Mostly, the initial startups for the installation of the water filter. This means basic water testing and site preparation setup and basic equipment. In addition to providing a water filter, SATI foundation will also develop a maintenance and sustainability plan by teaching the teachers and students proper maintenance and care. In conjunction, there will also be a sanitation program and germ prevention workshop.
A complete water filter costs approximately 100,000 baht plus shipping fees, etc. These filters provided up to 1,000 liters of water a day which can provide for 500 people, including the school children in Baan Pang Kia elementary school and also villagers nearby. Thus, for each 200 baht, you can provide clean water for a child in the northern and northeastern provinces.
