The Big Trees Foundation, the Thai Arborist Association, the Restart Academy, Nonthaburi Provincial Prison, and Socialgiver have come together to launch a program offering arborist training to inmates and former offenders. This initiative aims to create sustainable career opportunities, paving the way for a productive and positive future for these individuals.

Many inmates and ex-offenders face unemployment due to societal rejection, leading to reoffending. To combat this, our partners are providing arborist training to equip them with skills for sustainable careers and smoother reintegration into society.

From September 9-13, 2024, a comprehensive arborist training program will be held at Nonthaburi Provincial Prison and the Department of Corrections. This intensive course, both theoretical and practical, will train around 100 participants in arboriculture. Professional arborists and the Restart Academy will offer ongoing mentorship to ensure the trainees can apply their new skills to earn a livelihood.

Funds raised will be used to conduct the introductory arborist training program at Nonthaburi Provincial Prison, making a lasting difference in the lives of these individuals.
