Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional, and global challenges. With more than 10,000 members, the Global Shapers Community spans 500 city-based hubs in 150 countries.

In each city, teams of Shapers self-organize to create projects that address the needs of their community. Projects are wide-ranging – from responding to disasters and combating poverty, to fighting climate change and building inclusive communities. Shapers are diverse in expertise, education, income, heritage and identity, but are united by their desire to bring about change.

In Bangkok, the hub – Global Shapers Bangkok (GSBKK) – comprises 35 Shapers who are passionate in creating positive change and sustainable impact in the communities they live in, be that in Thailand, Southeast Asia or beyond.

The event will be hosting numerous interesting speakers who are experts in each of the track. The event will not be just about listening to speakers, but also interactive activities and excursions to create better understanding of the issues we are currently facing.

• 280 Volunteers trained in basic psychological first aid

• 120 Blood Donors engaged through numerous blood drives, with 30% being first-time donors

• 3,200 Trees planted to offset carbon footprint of SHAPE 2018

• 30 Students matched with 10 professionals across industries under a 3-month professional development program, which leverages both AI tools and mentorship for career preparation

• 1 of 4 Hubs selected globally (representing APAC) to mobilize WEF's circular innovation project Scale360. Popularized circular economy initiatives by connecting single-use plastic alternative manufacturers with private and public stakeholders, pushing for the Thailand Clean Air Act, and conducting a hackathon focusing on circular economy
